Cross-docking: fast delivery without storage

Goods go from receiving straight to dispatch without sitting on racks.

Cross-docking works when orders are known in advance and goods turn fast. It saves space and storage cost but needs clearly agreed supplier and dispatch schedules.

If the schedule slips, goods wait and the advantage is lost.
